So I have these shoes of mine...

Unfortunately they're a little worse for wear.

I was thinking of painting on them, maybe replacing the laces with some pretty ribbon. Does anyone else have any ideas? Help is greatly appreciated  Smiley

I just saw where someone took some shoes like that and put them in their flower garden and planted Chicks and hens in them.  They had one shoe facing in a little pigeoned toed.  It was really cute!  maybe you might use them for that.

Maybe you could fill them with cement and then decorate tham and use them as doorstops?

You might make sweater boots. Please see here: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=67859.0

You could paint them and varnish the inside or use something to act as a water sealant and use them as flower planters.  They also could make unusual bookends.

Check out the magazine Altered Couture!  It's copyrighted 2006.  I can't see a volume number on mine, but the cover has a recycled long jean jacket on it.  Anyway, pages 118 through 140 is all about painting and collaging and everything on shoes like yours, and pumps and tennis shoes.  The pair that's similar to yours, the crafter painted red flames all around the bottom.  The mag is published by Somerset Studios.  I found them on the internet and ordered 4 back copies.  Check it out!

hum. I'd be tempted to glue them to the ceiling somewhere obscure? (in my home) or to a wall/pavement in a public place. (I've got a postcard like that somewhere).

...but maybe that's just me. imagine the looks on people's faces when they saw a pair of shoes stuck to the bathroom ceiling! ... saying that, on the wall, you could put small jars/cups inside them and they'd make hilarious toothbrush holders. Cheesy
