These are the first stuffed things I've designed myself.  They're felt, hand-stitched, with embroidered faces.

Regarding the title: I'm scared of mushrooms, I always have been.  When I was little I wouldn't go play outside until my little brother checked the yard and kicked over any mushrooms he found.  I eat small mushrooms (the regular white ones, baby bellas, etc) but big mushrooms like full-grown portobellos I can't eat, and some of the more exotic mushrooms they sell like woodears, I can't even bear to touch.  So my goal here was to create mushrooms cute enough that even I would love them.

The first one (Agrocybe pediades) is feeling a bit nervous since he's heard I might not like him.

Fly Agaric (Amanita muscaria) is a flashy fellow and has more confidence.

By far the hardest part was the gills on the first one.  Each is a separate triangle of felt, and I thought they looked better not-stitched-down, so there's another layer of brown felt beneath them so his insides don't escape.  But I think he's much better for having real gills instead of just a brown underside.

I plan to make more fungal friends for them!  No icky mushrooms
though, just cute ones.

How could anybody fail to adore these little 'shrooms?  Kiss Especially the one whose expression says he's pretty sure you won't?

There are lots of mushroom varieties nearly as cute as fly agaric. I bet you could find pictures of brown pleated cap mushrooms, armillaria, or parrot mushrooms, and make yourself some more cute friends--even if you can't eat a portobella burger.

Nice to be here!

I'm not a big mushroom fan for eating, don't like the taste. But these are perfect for cuddling, super cute! Love the little faces, great job.
