I decided to put down my hooks and needles and give cross stitching a try. My mom tried to teach me when I was young, but I wasn't really interested. Here's my strawberry, I found the pattern from one of my mom's old magazines:

I'm really proud of it even if it is simple.  Smiley (Usually my firsts look like a tangled mass of something, but this came out!) And the work I've seen on this board is amazing; you guys are so talented!!

Thanks for looking!

I like it! Very simple and a good choice for a "first". The use of two greens for the leaves is nice (I would have completely gotten lazy and used only one) and theres something I just love about the "seeds".

Very nice!

I love the strawberry.  It's so cute!  I hope you become an avid cross-stitcher because there's not enough of us Grin.

That's so cute. I wish I had the patience to do any type of needlework.

I love cross-stitch.  It is really fun and appeals to the precise instruction follower that I am.  When I was really into it, about 15 years ago,  I used that tear away foundation canvas and crisstitched onto sweatshirts and blouses.  Those articles of clothing are really dated now, but I saved the stitiching!

That's really good for a first project. Looks like you'll be doing more, doesn't it?  Cheesy
