OK, so this was to be the first project in, oh, months, that I've made for myself.  Until my sister saw it and fell in love.

Here is my monster sister with her monster purse.  She hasn't named it yet because she says it's a boy, even though I gave her eyelashes...

I got the idea for the pattern from a knitted version that Kbauer sent me.  The Michaels near my house was going out of business and Fun Fur was priced (for once appropriately) at 30 cents a skein, so I went all out.  I used three strands of yarn: Bernat Disco (the fur), Boa (I think also by Bernat), and a basic TLC worsted weight acrylic.  I used a large hook and single crocheted around...just did a chain and went round 'n round until I got the height I liked, then I went back and forth for the lip.  I sewed the bottom, went back and forth for the strap.  I crocheted the eyes using white yarn I had left over, just did basic white circles and sewed black circles on top.  The teeth are crocheted as well...treble crochet, double crochet, half double crochet, single crochet, three slip stitch and then the reverse.  Unfortunately I decided to crochet the entire bag BEFORE adding the lining and my poor machine would not cooperate, so this bag is naked inside. Wink

Sorry, it's a lame-sauce tutorial, but should give you guys an idea.  When I finally make one for myself, I'll try to do a better step-by-step.

Enjoy!  Oh, and don't be afraid to comment...the purse doesn't bite. Wink

that is the best purse I have ever seen. wow Shocked

a positive attitude may not improve the situation, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.

Squeeeee!! I'm in love!!! I'm knitting mine, and I'm using Modea Fur in Pink Cosmo & Red Heart in Bon Bon Print. I am just knitting one long piece and then I'm planning on stitching a lil over 2/3 of the piece together for the bag part (the other >1/3 part will be the flap) and then I will line it. I have this adorable tealish fabric with white stars & swirls on it. If my machine won't cooperate (which I'm expecting it not to, as the bag is fuzzy), I'll just hand sew it. I'll show pics when I'm done.

Great job Lindsey!!!!!

Completely rainbow obsessed SAHM to 3 & hoping to add #4 to our family this fall!

Have old jeans, pillowcases, or t-shirts? I'll take them! I'm also always looking for the sleeves to women's long sleeved shirts!
