Man, I'm sad to hear about the AC Moore cashmere blend because I was thinking of going with that.

I don't think the problem was with the yarn, but with my knitting.

I've started my first sleeve!  I think I'll be done in time to wear it to a party on Friday.   And again on Sunday.  And then I'll take it with me to Paris (aren't you jealous?) and wear it out to many a swanky restaurant.  See, I can totally justify the expensive yarn (and shoes).  I'll be wearing it like 5 times in the next 2 weeks!

You MUST post a picture when you're done! Hopefully with coordinating shoes!  Wink

i just finished my last class today and am now an inch into my sweater.
i'm using the ac moore cashmerino bulky (because the regular weight one was insanely thin for me)  and i'm so in love with it.  i decided to use the size 7 needles i had because i was so impatient to start it.  they gave me a 20st/5st - 4" gauge so i co 160sts
i'm definatley going with red and black stripes.  i'm also probably going to eliminate the ribbon (too girly for me) and make the sleeves long.   did i mention this is my first sweater, oy.  but i'm all sorts of excited.

Rhell, that sounds perfect. I want to see it when it's done and hear commentary on your adjustments to the pattern!!

here it is!  That's me in the sweater and my friend Joel who just successfully defended his PhD next to me.  I was a little late to the party, but I finished it!  I'll try and get a better picture where a) i'm not drunk b) you can see the sweater and c) you can see the shoes!!  But both shoes and sweater are packed now, so you'll just have to wait.

Awesome Melidomi! I love the colors you chose and it looks like it fits you really well. Do you like it? Did it turn out the way you thought it would? Do you like the way it fits? Great job - thank you for posting it! (and congrats to your friend Joel!)

I LOVE it!  I had to do fewer rows above the eyelets (because I made it a bit longer and was running out of yarn!)  and i think I might try and find a wider ribbon (mine is 5/8" the only ribbon I could find that color, and I think the bow looks a little skimpy, even when it's not all wacky).  I love the cashmerino, it is sooooo soft, and it was lovely to work with.
