You mean I've got to knit another hat?! No problem. Especially if its not orange this time.

I don't think it's the orange hat either. I thought maybe it was similar to the Train Job hat, but having looked at a photo of it I don't think that's right either.

You know, for a big burly guy with limited private space, this guy really likes his hats.  I think we've inadvertently revealed something about Jayne.  He's a clothes horse!

I feel like the lighting is what "changed" the colours of the hat so much. There's two shots of him in the hat - one walking past Simon and Kaylee, and another long shot as he's walking away with Mal. It's the same hat shape, and I remember it having divisions in shading where The Hat does. But in that shot, basically everything is poorly lit except for Simon and Kaylee having their conversation, so the Hat is in low, blue-green light, which would make it look browner.

I also cannot imagine why they'd put him in a hat for thirty seconds and not have it be The Hat, especially since he doesn't wear it in the next scene, so it's clearly just a cameo to for a small, select group of people - perhaps the fans?

I couldn't agree more.

The hat goes down lower on the neck, like a tibeten (sp) hat, and not like earflaps in the movie. That's why I assumed it was different. Okay, who has bittorrented the movie and got screenshots? heheh!

I got the Firefly feva!

Here's mine (done in Lamb's Pride Bulky):

My thanks to Mackster and Emisanboo (whose pattern I lazily used) and the other Firefly geeksters here.  I'm a Browncoat newbie and I actually had a great time knitting this hat  Cheesy

I use Lamb's Pride bulky.  The original hat looks like a single, so I wanted something that was a single that also had some good heft to it, and I couldn't find the perfect orange in Lopi.
