You go on with your bad self!  Unfortunately, I don't subscribe to a news server, but I'll bet it looks stunning.  Smiley

I am considering offering some Jayne hat kits, with proceeds going to the American Red Cross for Katrina relief. The kits would include a pom-pom with tail for attaching to finished hat, four stitch markers, enough yarn to make a men's size large hat and a pattern (exact stitch and row counts for various sizes, a couple of tips on cast-ons and joining colors, etc.). Purchasers would need scissors and needles. The pattern would assume you could knit and purl, and knew what things like "without twisting stitches, join into a circle" mean. I would happily offer technical support via e-mail.

I'm thinking about 10-15 bucks, including shipping (domestic or international would be fine). The pattern would be for non-commercial use only, as my other very similar pattern in this thread is.

I don't know that we have knitters here who have not already created their masterworks. However, I'm asking anyway - is that something that would appeal to anyone? Any thoughts or suggestions?

Emisanboo,

I think that is a great idea.  It would also be something great to add to Charity raffles that some Browncoat groups hold.  For instance, NE Browncoats is setting up one for opening weekend.  Every little bit helps.  Where would you sell them?  On your own website?

i finished my jayne hat the day of dragoncon and i wore it there. There were a couple people with jayne hats in different styles. yay for knitting. Grin

(plus I asked  Adam Baldwin to touch my hat, so he held it for a bit and then he sniffed at it, just like jayne would do!)

I'm not sure where to offer them, whether on my site, or on eBay as "Buy It Now!" items, or as something for charity raffles as you mention.  At the moment, I have to be sure I have enough orange.  I've got enough to fill my current orders, but have to order more for beyond that.  Clearly, I need to purchase some sheep.

Yay!  I finished my hat a couple of days ago.  I'm so pleased with myself!!  It's my first real non-scarf project.  I didn't have the right size circs, so I used dpns.  The only other thing I've used them for was an iPod cozy.  I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out.  The colors in the photo are a little brighter than in reality.  My boyfriend really wants one for himself now.  Excuse the bedraggled look I have, it was pretty late at night.
