Strange things are afoot at the Circle K...

In celebration of getting my ravelry invite (I'm ginabeana over there) I've been taking pictures of all my knitting.  This was one of my favorite projects, from the last Knitscene (fall 2007).  Kindly modeled by my sister, frogeyesalad.

The hat is knit from the top down, so it was easy to upsize it for my giant head and add length so that it's a big slouchy hat.  Instead of the ribbon in the pattern I knit a piece of icord.  The yarn is all purple leftovers from other projects.

I love how you made icord instead of ribbon.

Thanks everybody!

thats a really cool hat... how does the cincher work?

There are two columns of eyelets down the back of the hat and you run your ribbon or icord through them, cinch, and tie a bow.

This hat reminds me of that SNL "Welcome to Gap, can I sell you some crap" skit from a while back where the answer to everyone's ill-fitting clothes was to add a belt and "just cinch it" Smiley

I just got invited to Ravelry, too! (mallorymary) I'm so overstimulated by all there is to do on that thing. Isn't it great?
