I took a pottery class; out of 5 major projects this is the only thing that didn't somehow get broken.  Ah well  Smiley





The bowl itself is made out of coils, then I carved the flower petal shapes into the top and added on the "leaves". 





It is fired and glazed to be food-safe, but since it has some grooves in it, I thought it would be a pain to clean.  So instead, I keep chess pieces in it!

It's OK, I kept them anyway.  I ended up with a vase based on an ancient Roman piece, and during the firing process two of the handles broke off and the glaze came off halfway rubbed off.  So it looks like it was dug out of the ground.   Cool, actually!
