Functional and sweet för the beader, embrodier and the semstress.
-----------------------------------------------------
A how too, as promised!
At first, make the neat ringbase. Here are some tutes, wich I really like.
http://wire-sculpture.com/fathersdaycontest06/display20.php
http://wire-sculpture.com/patterns/jewelrypattern105.php
After that you take a roundnose plier or something similar to create the pincushionbase.
After making the loops on the wire, snip off and make the wire to a circle of loops. Take a bit of fancy cloth an cut out a round form of it.
Thread a needle and stich alltheway in the cloths outlines. Fill with fiberfill and pull toghether. Cut two pices of wire and place in the rinf of loops.
Sew the pincusion on the looprings. Make sure the two wire-bits are between the pincusion and the ting of loops. Bend in the raw edges of the wirepieces as shown on the photo.
Use the bended wirepicec for attach the pincusionpart too the ringpart.
ed, decorate with beads, satinroses, etc etc.
Done. Enjoy your new lovely pincushionring!

Wow what a great idea and the setting of the ring will stop the pins from pricking you.
I so need one of these, my Husband is so sick of standing on my full pincushions, you could say he has an aversion to Acupuncture!!

i like the bottom two the best, and the middle one the absolute most.
it kind of looks like a zombie/voodoo frog.
you know, i'd probobly wear one of those in public.
do you find that the location is convenient? do you bump the needles/pins against objects, or does the ring twist around your finger and go upside down?
i've made wrist/arm band pincushions, and depending on where they are on my arm (upper arm, about 3" below my shoulder seems to be the best), but never thought of a finger cushion.

I
do it. Wear them in public...
It is more than convenient, it´s totally addicting and encurage my lazy sides. Suddenly is it soooo hard to pull out neddles and put in a pincusion wich are lyeing on the table, it is a very long way move needels "all" that way...
I´ve made the rings in my fingersize, so they do not twist or turns.
Nope, they don´t bumps in stuff, but my voodo-froggy-thingie, wich holds my beadingneddles are not comfy to wear when i make beadlace or RAW. Then I usally takes it of.
I wear this ring when I´m traveling and beadnetting at the same time. It really makes people smile. ^^
