Inspired by this Martha Stewart project (she usually drives me crazy, but this struck me the right way)

http://www.marthastewart.com/needle-felted-sweaters?lnc=c479cf380e1dd010VgnVCM1000005b09a00aRCRD&rsc=videohome_Homepage_Homepage

I made this needle felted sweater for my sweet, sweet niece.

The sweater is a men's XL wool sweater from the thrift store that I felted in my washing machine and cut up to sew into the toddler-sized sweater.  Then, I free-handed the design.

It's not incredibly sophisticated, but my niece seems to think she's beautiful in it.

Next up, a skull and crossbones for my nephew!

WOW!!!!!!!!  I love it, great job.  And your neice?  Adorable.  Can't wait to see the skull and bones.

Yeah, Martha can bug sometimes, but sometimes she has some great ideas.

She is definitely beautiful and lucky to have you as a crafty auntie!  Great work!  I love the combo of recycled and new materials as well as the grays with the pastel floral images.  Will you be my auntie?  Smiley

There's not much in this world that can't be improved by either chocolate, bacon or glitter.

SOOOO adorable!  Your felted sweater has a simple elegance that is perfect for a beautiful little girl like your niece!  Looks like it will fit her for awhile, too, which is good since you put so much effort into it.  I can never find inexpensive, 100% wool sweaters at thrift stores around here.... I'm so envious!

GREAT job!  I can't believe that was your FIRST NF project!!  Your niece is beautiful in her beautiful handmade sweater/jacket.  What a great gift!
