I've finally become one with the donkey!

Okay, I hope I can explain what I did! 

First, I just made a basic hat using a pattern that I found somewhere... no idea where. It was just a basic round beanie.
Then for the ears here's what I did...
EARS (gray part):
Ch 11, then ch2, dc in 3rd stitch from hook and across
Repeat for 12 rows
*Dec 1st and last 2 stitches, ch2 turn
Dc across*
Repeat to 2 sts.
break off and weave in ends
EARS (pink part)
Ch 9, then ch2, dc in 3rd stitch from hook and across
repeat for 8 rows
*dec 1st and last 2 sts, ch2, turn
dc across*
repeat to 2 sts, ch2, turn
dec both sts
Sew pink to gray carefully so stitches don't show on either side. I sewed the pink about 1 row down from the top of the gray.
Mane: (I used Jiffy Thick and Quick to make it poofy)
Ch 30
Ch 10, sl st into original ch
Here's where I got a little bit random. I just did whatever felt right.
Chain as many as you want and slip stitch into the next stich along your original chain until you get to the end. Here's a basic idea of the loops I made:
10, 8, 10, 10, 12, 12, 12, 14, 14, 14, 14....

I just went with the flow. My first mane was waaaay too small! It looked so silly. This one was almost too long for my taste, but I love it anyway.

Now I play the waiting game to see if it ever gets cold enough to wear it here. lol

Man now I want one, EEyore's my fav. Pooh character and that hat looks so like him.....And it does get plenty cold here to wear it. If you write up a tute. I'd gladly use it.
