Reality Bites, I have the teeth marks to prove it

My latest project is now complete. My beloved in-laws asked me to decorate their new mailbox. They are in the process of moving (across the street from me) and now need a new mailbox. Well, knowing how crafty and talented I am, they brought this BIG new mailbox to me to paint. I did ask what guide lines I had to work with and all they requested was to "make it patriotic". Since both are ex-military, patriotic is the way to go and what could be more patriotic than Captain America. Thanks to some art I found on Deviantart.com and some spare time, I have created a one-of-a-kind mailbox. Besides, knowing how much of a comics fan I am, I had to make something I would enjoy seeing every day, since it will be within eye shot for me. The only shame is that the whole internet world will see this thing before the new owners do. lol I only hope they like it as much as I do. Enjoy

I love it! I'm getting ready to repaint and stencil mine (just pretty flowers, no super heroes.)  Do you mind telling me what kind of paint you used?  Your colors are so vibrant.

Thanks for all the support. My in-laws love the new mailbox. As far as paint goes, here is what I used. I prepped the surface by roughing it up with steel wool, sprayed on some primer, projected the image with my handy overhead projector and traced the image with a pencil. I painted the image (two coats) with Krylon indoor / outdoor latex enamel. I painted the ends with Krylon indoor / outdoor spray paint. I then sprayed on two coats of clear coat (glossy) to the whole thing. Hopefully, the colors wont fade or flake off too bad. I am still stoked about this project. I can't wait to put the thing up, but I figure it is best to wait till they are all moved in and no more big trucks are going in and out of the driveway. My luck, someone would hit it, and that is just unacceptable. Thanks again to every and don't forget to check out my other posts / topics.

Words like "awesome" and "I love it so much I would marry it at a geeky fan convention in a theme ceremony" cannot describe how wonderful I think this is.
