Everyone's stuff is so cute!  I am amazed by those stamps- is each doll individually colored afterwards?  (and koi, those necklaces are soo precious...)

Too bad I went looking in all the antique stores near where I live, and no one had any nesting dolls before the swap, but this past Saturday I went into one store and not only did they have a set for $6, they had another set for $18 that were Leaders of the Soviet Union nesting dolls!  Ah well...

"Leaders of the Soviet Union nesting dolls" sound super cool. Wish we got stuff like that in stores around here. *sigh*

haha yeah i saw a babushka st of russian leaders from a tiny little lenin to a rather large putin at my local babushka shop.  they should have made an even tinier tsar nicholas!!

they also had ones of the american presidents and various different animals, but my favourite was the beatles babushkas (with a mini ringo starr in the middle)!!!

I actually own a set of the Leaders of the Soviet Union dolls.  Only, since I got them in 1991, they only go from little Lenin to the large Gorbachev.  They're fairly hilarious.

SuzukiBeane33, I printed the Matriosky on various papers, some which were patterned already, so there was layering of patterns. I then cut up and layered the paper so they each got a red babushka (head scarf) and whitish face.

I want a set of the Leaders of the Soviet Union dolls too! How delightfully kitsch.  Grin
