So I was watching TV with my boyfriend, waiting for our pizza to get here, and put my knitting down on the couch when it did. I couldn't find the check I wrote and went to look for it, in the process I put my  knee into the middle of my favorite needle and now the wood is splintered in the middle...

Any one know a way I could fix it, I don't have the money to replace them.  Cry

Well, if it's not completely broken in half (there's no fixing that) and it's just splintered but still together you may be able to fix it.  Or try at least.

I would attempt putting a couple coats of Mod Podge or other clear craft glue on the breakage then another coat over the whole needle.  I'm not sure if it will hold well, but if you really love that stick then I would try it out.

they wont be effective as knitting large items though, they would catch on any yarn...plus the feel in your hand would change..i know they WERE your favorite, but they will quickly become hard to work with and make you not want to knit

Unfortunately this is probably true.  If you do try to fix them with mod podge (or other glue), make sure you sand them after to make sure they are completely smooth.  Good luck!
