I had a specific look in mind, and while that didn't work out, the result is really awesome.  I wanted a banded pleated skirt, and the pleats look more like ruffles, but I still love the skirt.  I cut the top part as if I was making a micro-mini (eeek!  not on this mother-of-two body!) and then instead of hemming it I pinned and sewed the bottom part on it.  I am really really happy with it!  I used up almost all of the yard of fabric (60in wide) I bought to make it (it was in the bargain steals at Hancock fabrics, discounted to $2 a yard!).

Without further ado:

side (and you can see the back is fuller and a touch longer than the front)

Pardon the few stray threads I didn't see peeking out there at the bottom, and my jeans thrown on the couch there!

Wait, where did those come from?  I swear I didn't go to the craft store, honest!

Let the baby crafting commence!  Cheesy
