I embroidered it with "Yummy Tea" using R2 Sparkle after knitting it all in one colour.

It will keep my Earl Grey hot!

that is awesome... i am asking for a nice teapot for christmas (my target one fell apart) so then if i get it, i can knit a lovely tea cozy for it too!

I did the 8-ball tea cozy.  I changed it a little - I made the decreases at the top mirrored so that it's more like wedges at the top (beach ball style) and I left the cast off stitches unseamed so that the lid handle ball thing pokes through.  But isn't it adorable!?!  I made this and bought the teapot for a housewarming/christmas present.

Laurac, I love your cozy and so does your teapot!  Beautiful color and I love the sparkly lettering.  I wonder what other inanimate objects would love a cozy?  Legwarmers for your table?

Melidomi, that Magic Eight Ball makes me weep tears of joy.  Please tell me that that would be a good beginner's project! (Lie if you have to!)  The only thing I've ever knitted was a super wavy (but not on purpose), ugly scarf.

gadgetgirl, you've made me soooo happy!  I'd like to try this after I finish all my Christmas sewing.  Was thinking of sewing a version of this out of black velvet with leopard fur lining.
