This is the Perfect Picnic Bag from Crochet Today july/aug'07 issue. These pictures were taken before I lined the bag with plain white fabric. I think it looks better unlined, but it isn't very practical or functional that way.

I used Red Heart Super Saver in Dark Orchid and Pale Plum and a size J hook as called for. The squares came out a bit smaller than they were supposed to, but it's a bag, so what does it matter? The dimensions are 12.5" wide by 11" tall (excluding handle) and 3.5" deep.

Thanks for looking!!

What did you use as a closure? Wonderful bag! I love the colors

Thanks everyone!

I'm not sure what i'll be using as a closure, yet. It really is more of a tote than a purse, so I don't mind it being let open, but then again, I don't want my stuff falling out. I'll have to think on it.

Very pretty!  Smiley

Thanks! I told myself I wouldn't make another one (all those ends to weave in! gah!), but, alas, i just started one in royal blue and spring green.  Cheesy I couldn't help it. The bag is actually big enough to hold my school books (let's just hope it's strong enough!).

I've been thinking about a closure, and if I have enough of the blue and green, I'm thinking of making a messenger-style flap and maybe a couple of fabric covered buttons.

That's a very pretty bag, and I am not a fan of making closures--this one would be nice as a tote, as you say.
