Problem solved..Wine bag !!!!!

Hi everyone
I always have a problem where to put the wine bottles when I am going to bring couple of them over to my friends house for party. 
Sometimes I put it  in my purse, some times just in brown bag or grocery bag. 
So today I solved the problem forever I sewed myself a WINE BAG…
What do you think?
I just use scrap of fabric I had on hand, but next week I am going to find a fabric with grapes on it and make one more. J

Well - this is brilliant. I had this problem last weekend - two bottles just don't mesh well together loose in a bag. I was so afraid they would break!

Excellent idea! And, since I am being extra frugal this Christmas, this will make a perfect "Yankee Swap" gift, especially if I tuck in some "Two Buck Chuck" wine from Trader Joe's (which is actually three bucks out my way, but still a good deal on a decent wine).

Hi..
I am going to try to explain how I made my wine bag.  I would prefer to do that in Polish language, but I will try in English 

..so I made this bag the some way I make regular tote just smaller size.
I did not use interfacing; just canvas as inside fabric, outer fabric is some kind of home decor fabric . The bag should be stiff to hold the bottles.

First I cut out 2 rectangles and 28 cm by 53 cm from outer and lining fabric. Also cut out the strap.  (my strap was about 4 cm wide and 46 cm long).After I sewed the strap  was 3 cm wide.

Fold the outer fabric wrong side out. Sew down each side. At the bottom of the bag sew two triangles at the end. (I made bottom 8 cm wide) so the bottle can fit.

Fold the lining in half with wrong side out and sew sides up leaving an opening. Make the same two triangles at the bottom.

Then follow instruction like you make regular tote bag. 

At the end I sewed the bag in the middle (half way 12 cm) to separate the bottles.

That is it!! Now put 2 bottles in, and you are ready to attend the party.

That wine was rated highly on the Rachel Ray show.It beat out much higher priced wines. I'm not a wine drinker but this bag would make a great gift idea for some family/friends.

I'm not a wine drinker either, but I've been told it's very good. On a trip last year to California, we drove through wine country and passed by the Charles Shaw vineyard. Didn't make the connection that it was the same wine until I got home

That bag is fantastic. It would be a wonderful gift bag too. You could use Christmas fabric and give it as a Christmas gift with two bottles of wine. I love it!

Working in a bottle shop, i have come across bags designed to carry wine in...but they are so UNBELIEVABLY daggy!(to the degree that i'd almost prefer the paper bag...) this on the other hand is very cute!

one thing these generic bags have going for them is that they're lined with that foily stuff, so you can just pop your white out of the fridge into the bag, and still have it cool when you get you your mate's place!

i don't know if this is possible...but i'll look into it!
