I just thought this was the cutest pillowcase and I wanted to do something other than the standard pillowcase dresses. So I gathered the skirt and attached it to my keyhole type top. I then added some eyelet trim and ribbon and there you have it. I love it on her. I think it makes her look like Mrs Roper! hee-hee

The face your daughter is pulling in the second pic looks like a face Mr Roper does!

I'm pretty sure the dress turned out okay....I was so busy laughing and enjoying the looks on your precious little girl's face that I hardly noticed the dress....  Okay now I've stopped looking at her face and relooked.  Cute dress.  Ohhh there I go again looking up at her face again.  Look at her little face all puckered up!  How cute!

I gather with fishing line, it makes life so much easier. I was always breaking my thread the standard way. Here is how I do it:

Take a length of fishing line that is longer than the fabric width you are gathering. Figure eight the line around a pin so that the line stays in place. Set your machine on a fairly wide zigzag and zigzag stitch over the fishing line. When done you can easily gather the fabric just as you would push back a curtain on a rod. Pin the gathered fabric and your set! So simple. Try this and let me know how it works for you. I hope my directions were easy enough to understand.

I think the lace really makes it special. My guess would not have been pillowcase!
