So it's not the kind of action shot I'd like, but it got kinda chilly here in Minnesota and I couldn't find a good setting.  But here she is!

And a close up of the lace, of course

Beautiful!

I was still working on my straights (still waiting for my circs to come in), and some how, my 3yo daughter managed to stand on the needles I was using and snap them right in half  Cry I managed to save my work, but it was a "heart in stomach" moment for sure!

Here's my progress so far:

Thanks - I like it too - but it's actually not for me  Wink

I decided what yarn I was going to use (Elann Sonata), sent the link to my mother in law (who the shawl is for - but she doesn't actually know what I'm making - bwahahaha!!), and told her to pick a colour. She came back with 5(!!) and told me to pick one from those. I had already been kinda hoping she would pick the one I went with (Victorian Grape), and it was in the top 5, so I went with it  Grin

I'm just about to bind off, and it has to be blocked, but otherwise, I'm done!

How is everyone else doing?

Here's the specs:

Yarn: Elann Sonata in Victorian Grape - 5 balls
Needles: US6 Clover Takumi Circs
Additional info: Only did 9 of the 11 sets of repeats as it already measured to the pattern specs at this point. If I were to make it for myself, I would definitely knit the full 11 repeats - but the recipient is about 4" shorter than I am, so it should be a perfect fit for her.

All that's left to be done is blocking and tucking in a few ends Cheesy

Here are the pics:

-full shawl

-detail

I am incredibly happy with how well it turned out - this is my largest, and only lace project to date. I absolutely LOVE it and hope the recipient does too (won't find out till Christmas though - the suspense just might drive me insane!)

Thanks guys  Cheesy

Looks like I'll be starting my second Tuscany sooner than I expected! I was going to make Hubby's Gramma a long vest for Christmas, but the yarn I had ordered just wont work for it - boo  Cry

Anyways, this one will be red - most likely Elann Sonata in Ruby!
