I LOVE this story. I wish my daughter liked knitting. She can cast on, knit, even crochet. But she doesn't like it. Sad I teach knitting at her school There's a few kids I've taught that love it like that. Nobody I know is as addicted...uh dedicated to knitting as I am! Thanks for the inspiration.

That is so cool.  I am the only crafty one in my family, too.  My mom is so not crafty and I always wondered where it came from.  I have three daughters.  Two have shown a slight interest in knitting, but they really have not taken to it.  My other daughter...forget it.  All she wants to do is play video games.  She thinks knitting is stupid!  You would think with three daughters that I would get one that would love knitting as much as I do....not!  Oh, well.  You are very lucky to have someone to share your enthusiasm with.

Wow! Smiley Smiley

Funky that you let her come to you when SHE wanted to. I know I was  put off fibre crafts for years because we HAD to crochet a cat at school.

I have to say, my dear niece brought tears of joy to my eyes too ... not because she wanted to knit, but because she wanted me to knit something for her! I have such a hard time finding people to knit for! It would have been fun to teach her ... she did cross stitch at one time, but .... she was 6 then and she is 23 now ... no interest!
