I had decided a couple days ago that I had outgrown my old purse and needed something bigger. Since I'll be starting my fourth year of college in a little over a week, I thought it would be the perfect time to make myself something new.

After sitting and cutting out 70+ different colored 4"X4" squares I wanted to give up...but after a little patience (which I never have), my work paid off and I  had created this tote.

And I LOVE it. It's not too big, not too small; just the right size so that I can still wear my backpack, and I can keep things I don't want getting squished in my new little tote. I'm uber-proud.

Here's the main view. It has a small pocket on the front that's trying to blend in...tee hee!

A little close-up of some details.

View from the side.

And the inside with a bunch of pockets!

very very cute.  I've been thinking of doing something similar, but all that cutting and putting together scares me.  You did a great job.

Too cute

That is such a FUN bag!  I go nuts over patchwork and the colors are all so happy and bright.  Beautiful work!

What a fun looking bag! I love the colors, and how you've matched your pocket to blend in. Very nice. Smiley

Very nice.  I have a box of squares I intended to make into a pillow some day but I'm rethinking there's a bag in the making.

If you can read this, thank a teacher!

oooooooooo! i love all the pockets on the inside!  how clever of you to make pockets for your pens...i never thought of that, i just let mine roll all over the place and get in my way. i love the patchwork, too...the nice thing about a bag with so many fabrics and colors is you can wear it with anything and everything!

Wow, that is an awesome bag. I have been thinking about making a patchwork bag, but never worked up the courage to do so. Your bag is very inspiring.
