Great job coordinating the matching set.  Love the new spin on the wallet...haven't seen one like that before.  Nice button details on the strap.

thanks to everyone for their great comments!!  Cheesy
I really love the button strap....it's a great idea.

i have to tell you that you are supposed to put button holes on the strap and then just use two buttons...but i HATE using the button hole function on my machine...i always screw it up. plus, i thought, "why would i need button holes on the strap? who unbuttons their strap??" so, i thought, "eh, forget it...i'm sewing the straps together with these buttons." it all works out just the same.

unfortunately, no...the bag and wallet are purchased patters and the little zip bag is something i did on my own, but very easy...i can give you directions for that:

choose an outer fabric and a lining, cut them in a rectangle, whatever size you want. make sure the shorter sides of the rectangle about about 1/2 inch to 1 or more bigger than your zipper (you will be squaring these sides off later to give your bag depth, so you'll need to decide how much depth you want)

layer your outer fabric, batting, and lining fabric together so that right sides are facing out.

quilt them.

zigzag the edges to prevent fraying.

sew zipper to short sides of rectangle (you'll now have a cylinder with  zipper connecting them.

now, open the zipper completely and sew along the zipper on each side. i do this so that when you open the bag, the zipper doesn't flip out.

flatten, sew sides shut. (make sure you zipper is open a little!)

now, square all four corners just like you would if you were making a purse that had squared corners. make sure that you sew close to the zipper to get rid of any gaps.

i know there are no pictures, but it's really fast and easy...i can do one start to finished in 30 min. to and hour...it depends on how big and how much quilting. you can make them any size because the directions are the same no matter what size.

ah, i see what you're saying...

the bag is called the "nouveau hobo bag" by indygo junction. here is a link to the indygo junction website to buy it. i bought mine at a quilt shop.

http://www.indygojunctioninc.com/store/product_info.php?products_id=627

the wallet is called "a safe place" by favorite things and again i purchased it at a quilt shop, but here is a link for it:

http://www.favoritethings.net/patterns/handbags/a_safe_place

other places have these patterns, but these are pretty good prices. both are easy to follow, i would definitely make them again.

sorry i didn't understand what you were saying before...i thought you meant a link to the actual pattern to be downloaded off of the internet! Roll Eyes boy do i feel silly now!!

Aaaaahhhh!  I'm in love...again!  (I feel like I'm cheating on my bags when I say this... Grin)  Oh my gosh...this is the most fantastic set--I absolutely love the fabrics and the bag's style, especially the strap.  They're all just beautiful!  Cheesy
