whoever said that making these things is addictive was right. i've begun hoarding scraps of felt and thin plastic and cardboard to make these:

brown, with a ring made with the leftover scraps

tassels, cupcakes, blue

raffia, sealed with a few coats of modpodge

raffia, sans modpodge

preferences? suggestions? advice on how to break this addiction?

I love those! Very professional and stylish. my favourite is the brown and white with the criss-cross brown ribbon overlay. There are definitely worse addictions in the world...so craft away like a mad woman I say!

wow! i really like the raffia ones (with the modge podge), those seem different from what you usually see.
I also have to ask, where did you get that cupcake ribbon? it's so cute!

the cupcake ribbon came from the dollar bin at michael's and the ring was made by glueing small strips of cardboard and plastic together (it's slightly octagonal in reality).
