So, DH loves Disney's original Herbie the Love Bug (sans Lindsay Lohan), and has since....forever.  He asked me to search on Crafster to find Herbie-related crafts -- and
>>insert gasp
THERE WERE NONE.

So, part of the impetus was filling a very obvious void of Love Bug crafts.  Also, I wanted to try out freezer-paper stencilling for the very first time.  Also, DH has a stack of all-too-plain white t-shirts.  I'm always looking for new ways to craft for him.

This was an image I black-and-whited from a photograph.

Close-up:

NB: Because DH is also a general Volkwagen Beetle freak, he asked me to put in authentic racing-style hubs, which, unfortunately were not on the photographed car.  So we cut and pasted the image from a car from the movie, and I painstakingly (yes, his pain and mine) put those in after the fact.

Love it!  And how nice of you to work by request... I'm always too craft-spacey and people only recieve what I sporadically churn out.

If it had grown up, it would have made a dreadfully ugly child; but it makes rather a handsome pig, I think.

I will try...let's see:

Did that work?  If you want it mo' betta', pm me, and I'll attach a bigger 'un.

I had to do some fudging, like with the hubcabs, with additional "bridges", and with a skinny outline on the outer edge of the car since it would be white on white.  Some elements made it to the final with only the 'suggestion' of what they once werer...but that's artistic license.

At any rate, this is the image I used.  DH says it's an authentic movie car.  Whatever.

Thank you so much! It should work fine. I'll probably enlarge it a bit but it'll be okay if it's just a little blurry. Smiley
