Being a fan of obnoxious things, I had to look after I read your tagline...
And I think it's ridiculously cute!  Ditto on your hair, even if your face is being covered by Mr. Bach.  Way to turn some weird scrap yarn into a great project - you're an inspiration!

Well I like it! I think it is cute, but you are right, the open color needs a button or something.

Can you share a bit how you made it?

Thanks for all of the positive comments!   Smiley

Ooh, I really like it. It looks a bit like one of the patterns in Fitted Knits, and as usual I am blanking on the name.

I don't mean to borrow ideas from her designs, but the first (and only, using a pattern) sweater I knit was the "Short-sleeved Cardigan with Ribbing" from fitted knits, so consequently, I probably think that's the only way to make a sweater.  Undecided

Can you share a bit how you made it?

The top part is pretty much just a basic top-down raglan construction.  I don't remember how many stitches I cast on with the Lion Wool, originally, it was probably between 70 and 85. I knit the collar in 1x1 rib, then joined the Gypsy yarn for the upper area/sleeves and continued with the sleeve increases, etc, until I got to the point where I wanted to start the ribbing for shaping.  I joined the Lion wool back in and did 1x1 ribbing for about 2 inches, then started the lace pattern. The stitch pattern is called old shale stitch in the Golden Hands Book of Knitting and Crochet.

I did a few decreases before I started the waist ribbing (I can't recall how many) to get the correct number of stitches to use for the lace repeats.  I wanted to add increases to shape the lower section, but I don't know how to increase over lace.

Hope that helps!

Very nice, though I'm not sure Bach could pull it off
