Godzilla block prints

I used this weird Speedball carving block (felt like a giant eraser) stuff I had never used before, and I don't think I like it.  Easier to carve, but cranky to print.
And I learned the 10 years is really too long to keep oil-based printing ink around lesson.  Woooo, mess!
I printed them onto some scrapbooking paper (cheaper than similar fabric).  The ink is a really dark purple, in case you can't tell.  I wanted other colors too, but my other inks and paints and things weren't working well.  I'm planning on getting ridiculous ornate gold frames.

The blocks (I only used one but the original idea was 2 godzillas going in opposite directions.  Eventually I'll get better ink and more paper and do that.)

I enjoy the contrast between the solid Godzilla shape and the intricacy of the vegetation in the background. I agree with you on the gold frame. It's the only way to go.

I agree!  I think it's cool, too, how you picked kind of a Asian print to go with the godzilla.  I don't know if you planned it that way, but it worked really well!

Actually, it's a toile print.  Very Godzilla-wreaking-havoc-on-the-18th-century-countryside.  I should do some Mothra ones next...
