Here's a couple of simple handbags that I recently finished. They are my first real attempt at sewing any kind of purse.  I'm a little zipper-phobic so they both have single snap closures.  

I've seen quite a few others post little zipper pouches so I think I may start with something like that for my first zipper attempt.  That way it won't be too too disappointing if I mess it up.

Lovely, I like the pink one, great trims.  It too am zipper impaired, bought a couple yesterday to give it a try!

i love the button detail with all of the beads! don't be afraid of zippers...if you have a zipper foot, it's really not that hard to put a zipper into a bag. and if you're the handsewing type, it would be pretty easy. if you can make bags that look so nice your first time out, zippers will be simple for you!  Smiley

I totally love the pink one! How cuuute!! Actually, my first zipper project was this year! I always used buttons or velcro. Now that i've done a bag with a zipper, they actually are not difficult! REally give it a try!
