Details of swap:

Labels/tags want to be beautiful, they want to be altered into something stunning just for you. They want to be painted, sewn, collaged, stapled, hole punched, glued, threaded with ribbons and wools…you name it, they want to do it. They’re adventurous little things.

There's lots of things you can do with them, like Rackycoo's idea to make a book, inspired by ~ Beautiful Bindings for Handmade Books ~ which shows how to make a book to display tags. If the tags are left blank they can be used for gift tags. Or they can be pegged up on string washing line, pinned onto cork boards, tied onto furniture knobs...the list is endless!

This swap is all about altering a number of labels/tags and swapping with a group so that you receive the same number back. There will be 5 to a group (signups permitting). Though the limits are up to you if you want to arrange to swap more than one label with your partners.

There's lots that can be done to change a label into a beautiful piece of art and the results can be hung up or even made into a book. Since it's a quick and inexpensive swap I hope there's lots of interest!

These would be the bigger labels rather than the teeny ones, approx 4/6cm x 10/12cm. Though if you wanted to attach smaller ones/send as well then that would be fine if it's agreed beforehand with your partners.

If a label/tag is not received by your partner by 21st September, you will be asked to resend a new card.

Well thankfully we have only be living here for a year and its a fully furnished flat.  We are just moving back to our home country so most of our stuff is still there.  Which hopefully means that its going to take a couple of suitcases and a couple of large boxes posted to get everything home!  Fingers crossed!

This certainly would be a good diversion and chill out for me though

Still trying to work out time scales...  If I was to enter then I would probably be sending at least a week early.

A question though,  you said that if the tag ain't received by 21st Sept that you are asked to resend.  Now I will be training for all of the month of Sept and potentially for the first couple of week or 2 in Oct (still waiting for the official training schedule to come through) and may have very limited internet access and probably no time to craft during that period (they organise social events most nights as well as the formal training during the day) and no craft supplies as I will be training at the opposite end of the country to my home city.  So yeah, I guess I really should get to the question bit now....  well I was wondering if it would be still alright for me to take part even if I can't make a replacement tag (which hopefully I wouldn't have to do anyway!) until potentially mid October?  And I may have very limited internet access until beginning to mid October.

Hopefully there will be no need to resend, but would it be possible to make a reserve tag up when you make the others, just in case? I guess mid-October would be okay if it came to it though since I know about your circumstances in advance.

Well how about *if* I join the swap then I tell all participants in my group about my situation and if they are ok with a resend date of mid Oct (if necessary at all) then I will leave it at that, but if not then I will make a replacement tag for that person.  Does that sound fair?  I hope thats not being too cheeky of me to ask that?
