A co-worker of mine is preggers, expecting in october, and I thought I'd put together a little bag for her.  So I made two pairs of baby booties and bought a newborn hat from the Gap.  Supercute.

Pair 1:
I found this pattern on Saartjeknits, a lovely webpage by a gal in the Netherlands:  http://www.saartjeknits.nl/  It is a versatile pattern, I think.  Knit in Paton's Misty.

Pair 2:
This pattern is found here:  http://www.knittingonthenet.com/patterns/babybootscable.htm .  Knit in Lionsbrand microspun.

I stuffed them with paper to fill them out--that's the silver stuff in them

I would recommend making these!  They took no time at all, and were a satisfying knit.
Anyone else have any favourite bootie patterns that they can share?

The 'one hour baby booties" in Debbie Stoller's Stitch and Bitch Nation are super easy!  And it took me EXACTLY an hour to make the pair!  I highly suggest that pattern

Great work!  I just made the cable booties but they were too big!!  Gauge, gauge, gauge.  Yours are both super cute!

I love that saartje booties pattern!  It's definitely a quick baby shower staple.

You did a great job on both pairs. They're so cute!  Grin
I can't wait for you to post the pattern, for the 2nd pair. I'd like to start doing some cabled stuff but, I need to start off with something small. Your pattern could be just the thing, for me to learn how to cable.

I made a really cute pair of booties a few years ago, but I can't seem to find the pattern anymore.  I'll keep looking.  In the meantine, I found a pattern for bunny booties!  There are soooo cute: http://aww.ninemsn.com.au/article.aspx?id=63522&subsectionname=craftclassics.

Thank you both, for posting the patterns.  Cheesy
Would you like to knit a matching bunny hat, to go with the booties?
It's such a cute hat, similar to the booties.
Then just make Knitty's "Daisy" sweater in white and backstitch a pink bunny on it and, voila!  Grin
I think it would make an adorable baby set for a girl.
Here's the link for the bunny hat, I hope it works.
