So I finally finished my first lace project and here are the pictures.

Here is a close up of the jacket in progress (I made the stitch markers)

This is me knitting the jacket at the salon, while drinking a glass of wine and watching my Aunt get her hair done. (I'm multi-tasking)

This is my Aunt wearing her lovely finished jacket at the wedding reception.

And here is my lovely Aunt again, wearing the jacket for the toast's. I was thrilled that none of the red wine ended up on the white jacket.  (btw, her husband is behind her to the left in the red shirt.)

I would love to know what you all think of the jacket! I've never done lace before (as I said at the top) but i'm pretty satisfied with the outcome. BTW if anyone is curious, my mom sewed the wedding dress my Aunt is wearing, and the shirt my Uncle wore as well. Thanks again for looking, and much crafty love! Grin

That's beautiful! Did you use a pattern or make it up as you went along? Either way you did great.

Well I learned the lace pattern from the Spring/Summer issue of Knit It! They used it for a tank top. I figured out the gauge I needed to get the jacket the right size and I sort of winged it from there. Believe it or not, this jacket has NO seaming. I hate seaming, I'm always afraid it's going to fall apart when I'm through. Anyways I made the pattern up my self. I can try to write it out if you like. I can't promise anything, but I'll give it a shot. It's mostly done by your measurements because of the pattern.

by the way the yarn is 100% cotton, from sugar and cream. ( I think that's the name.)

That is absolutely beautiful. I too, would love to have the pattern for this. I don't like to do seams either. If I can avoid them, I do. Call me lazy. lol. It looks like you did a feather and fan stitch for it.
Anyways, you did a wonderful job.
