BROKEN IMAGES - Cute Nintendo DS Case- *now with more pics and tut!*

I had a hankering to crochet something, but I wanted instant gratification.  So I grabbed some yarn and made a coin purse.  It ended up on top of my DS and I thought, "Wow, that would make a cute DS case."  And thus, (even though I have a store bought case) the crocheted DS case was born.

I just winged it, but if you'd like a tut I can make another and write it down as I go.




OK, here's one I made for my bf in his favorite colors: Subaru Rally Blue and Yellow:





And the tut!  This pattern is for a DS Lite, but I have made notes for the original DS.

Size H crochet hook
Worsted weight yarn in 2 colors.  Main color= mc, contrasting color= cc
Scissors, yarn needle, etc.

With mc ch 16 (for original DS, ch 19)
Hdc in 3rd ch from hook and each ch accross.  Ch 2, turn.
*Hdc accross.  Ch 2, turn.*  Repeat until piece measures 14".
Change to cc and sc accross for 2 rows.  FO.

Fold piece with right sides together leaving a 3 inch flap.  Sew up the sides.  I usually add a dab of glue to hold my knots since they always seem to come out.  Turn so the right side is facing out.  Add velcro or a button for closure.

Flower:
With cc, ch 4.  Slst into last st to form a ring.
Ch 6.  Slst into ring.  Repeat 4 times.  FO.

Sew or glue flowers to case wherever you'd like them to be.

I have a couple of store bought cases but I love this one better. If you can could you put up a tut, I would love to make this for my DS.

hey thats is so very cute....will you please post the tutorial here on craftster?  i would luv 2 make this 4 my diabetic 7yr old daughter....she could put her insulin pump in something cute like this and wear it around her waist

Aww, kitty she's so cute!  You could very easily add a strap to put on a belt.
