Oh goodness! I raided Dollar Tree's wedding aisle today, and guess what I found...
If you take a hint from the subject... tux and wedding dress favor boxes! I saw these a million years ago in a wedding mag and yearned for them, but didn't want to pay what they wanted for them. I figured I could devise some way to make them myself for cheaper, and then basically forgot about them. Then today, I saw them at Dollar Tree and snatched up 60 of them for 6 bucks! How exciting is that?!
Moral of the story - buy lots of crap at Dollar Tree for a cheap wedding!

you are so lucky!! yeah man I would definitely do the same thing...I think 99cent stores are the best when you want to be under budget! I hope I can come across that for my future wedding.

I didn't want to open the packages until I got approval from the fiance, so I got that picture from somewhere on the web. My dresses are different (better, I must admit:) Mine have little silverish details on the front, and I can't remember but the tuxes may be slightly different too.
Does anyone else go to DT for their wedding paraphernalia? How big is the section at the one you go to?

My SIL just bought some of those same boxes from DT...i think she also got some invites and rsvp cards from there too!  They actually have some pretty nice stuff for being a dollar store

Agreed! I saw placecards and thank you cards too, but I held back on getting them because I'm not sure if I want to try my hand at gocco. I saw a really cute set up in a Martha Stewart mag where they did gocco placecards that, when put all together made the picture of a place setting.

I've been checking my Dollar Store and 99cent store regularly since being engaged. I haven't found a whole lot I like in their wedding section (which varies in selection, usually a decent amount of stuff though), but I'm also not going for the typical white, floofy wedding.
I have found some great plates and vases that I am going to convert into centerpieces, as well as those glass gem stones at a so-far unbeatable price. I've picked up other odds and ends too, like decorative punches to use on the invitations.
