Swirl-along?

As I mention, I runned out of the black yarn.
So I went too the store to buy more.
The black woolone was totally outsold!
I lokked at some cotton and some acrylic, but nooooo... *agony*

After a lot of thinking and touchin and compering of yarns, I decided to buy woolyarn in darkest midnightblue.

Allmost black but not really. (I put my last ball black yarn in the top of the newbought one for comparing.


I was really enoyied at first, but after put it in my work, I`m satisfied. It turns out great! ^^

Really curious to see how this turned out? Did anyone finish? Still working on it?

I would love to see more pics. I loved the original pattern but I was having trouble envisioning it when reading the instructions and seeing your in progress pictures mynta really helped. Vildhavre - your pics are no longer showing ;(

Heeee.. I´m still working on mine. I have contrived by intigrate the blue one with the black one. It´s look pretty acceptable...

Oops! Need to get those pictures fixed..

My swirl is hibernating right now. It's almost finished. Just a tiny little bit on one arm left. But somehow I don't seem to be able to sit down and finish it..

Sorry for not posted any piccies last week as I promised. >< I´m an untrustworth smail.

But I DID work on my swirl, so I give you some reporting instead.

I have this allm ost sickly urge for modifing patterns. So with this one!

I made it much longer then the pattern tells. It goes a bit under my knees at the back and the fron is shorter. It just stops in the upper part of my legs, so it kind of look like an hystericel, unslitsed, very colourful frock.  And thets is just the way I want it. *hugging and pet my swirl*

It´s kind of remaninds me of something a witch would wear, it kind of goes well with a black dress, striped socks and pointy hat and shoes...  ...and I allways felt witchy and liked it.

This is the front right now:

Kind of "silent"... I wl add long pufy sleeves. ^^ and a lot of tiny silverbuttons in the front!
This swirl really lives it´s own life. I thougt i would be someting not very long with a hood at first, then i relized it would be a coat. A withcoat, but it has developed into some freaky victorian riding-coat-thingie. Well I love it.
This is the back! And the back steal the whole show!

Wow that is so cute mynta! How did you get it to go way down past your knees in the back? Oh my gosh it is pretty.

I started to croch the upper pie-wedge and the lower pie-wedge at first. The lower one did I just make really much bigger than the pattern said. ...and then I just croch the sideparts and adjust them to go along with the differnt sizes of the top and the bottom. Make any sence?
