For my entry, I decided to make a whole set of coordinating bags that can be folded into a zipper pouch for easy carrying.  That way, I'll have enough nice fabric bags for a medium sized shopping trip.

I used iron-ons to put my series of sea side animals with protest signs onto the bags.

The bags are made of leftovers from other projects, mostly cotton muslin, and printed cotton linings.

The pattern is made from a regular grocery store bag following queenofdiy's tutorial.

The drawings I did following some pictures of the animals I found on coloring pages on-line.  None were originally protesting.   Cheesy

Here are some in various states of finishedness.

Here is the top stitching and anchor lining on the starfish bag.

This is the lining of the other bags.  It makes me think of water bubbles.

Action Shots!

If you go to my site at this link:  http://www.beppycat.com/reusable%20bags  You can get full-sized images of the animals to swipe and use on your own bags if you think they're cute.

Thanks for looking everyone!  I hope they've made you smile!!

BTW, there were going to be some with puns involving the words "levithan" and "reel" but my husband said those were stretching my pun making abilities to the breaking point.   Wink

Your bags are fantastic! Who needs plastic bags?! When you can have cute environmental friendly bags!
Btw, what brand of iron-ons did you use?

I really liked the pics that you put on the bags.  I "stole" the otter pic to use on something for my son.  Checked out your site.  That apron was the best.  Keep up the good work!

Thanks all for the nice compliments.  I'm glad you like the animals.  I know they're a little cheesy, but my sense of humor is pretty much at the pun level, so they crack me right up.

I used Avery brand for the iron on's.  They work really well for me, though I did almost burn one, because apparently my new iron works MUCH better than the old one.  So I have to learn some new heat adjustments, not just the old everything on high method I used with the old one.

I'm glad you liked the apron tryskal.  And thanks for checking out the rest of the site.  I'm trying to put together more projects like that to have on there, but I never seem to remember to update it.  I'm thinking of getting a laptop and for some reason that seems like the magic pill I'll need to really improve beppycat.com.  Of course, I'm sure just because I CAN update from anywhere won't mean that I actually WILL update from anywhere.
