I too did a baby blanket this summer--my first--and that experience and your post leave me wondering if those suckers *always* seem to take longer than they should?  Looking at your blanket, though, I'd say it was clearly worth it.  The pinwheel/ruffle/picot combo is super cute.  I always know I like baby projects when I look at them and say "I want one for myself!"  Good work!

I have to laugh at you saying you'll never do one of these again.  I said that too when I finished mine, then I did another one a couple months later.  I ate my words... big time!   Shocked

But guess what?  Your blanket is ADORABLE.  The colors are so vibrant, and I love the ruffle.  You did a great job, and I hope the family loves it!  Awesome!   Wink
