I just finished making my little bunny- she was inspired by my kids eating all the mint chocolate chip ice cream and not leaving any for me!!!!
Here are the directions to make her:
Materials:
I hook
ww yarn- i used Caron Simply Soft in Mint, and black
felt, yarn needle, embroidery floss, eyeballs
*This pattern is made holding 2 strands throughout*
Body:
*hold 2 strands green together*
6 sc in ring
rd 1: 2 sc in each sc around (12 sc)
rd 2: 2 sc in first sc, sc in next sc around (18 sc)
rd 3: sc in each sc around (18 sc)
rd 4: dec1sc over first 2 sc, sc in next 6 sc, dec1sc over next 2 sc, sc in next 8 sc (16 sc)
rd 5-10: sc in each sc around (16 sc)
rd 11: dec1sc in first 2 sc, sc in next sc around (12 sc), sl st in next sc, fasten off, weave in ends.
Head:
*made with 2 strands green yarn*
6 sc in ring
rd 1: 2 sc in each sc around (12 sc)
rd 2: 2 sc in first sc, sc in next sc around (18 sc)
rd 3: 2 sc in first sc, sc in next 2 sc around (24 sc)
rd 4-7: sc in each sc around (24)
rd 8: dec1sc over first 2 sc, sc in next 2 sc around (18 sc)
rd 9: dec1sc over first 2 sc, sc in next sc around (12 sc)
rd 10: dec1sc around (6 sc)
fasten off, weave in ends
Feet (make 2)
*hold 1 strand of mint and 1 strand of black*
5 sc in ring
rd 1: 2 sc in each sc around (10 sc)
rd 2: sc in each sc around (10 sc)
rd 3: dec1sc over next 2 sc, sc in next sc around, sc in last sc (7 sc)
rd 4-8: *switch to double green yarn* sc in each sc around (7 sc)
fasten off, weave in ends
Arms (make 2)
Start with green/black combo
4 sc in ring
rd 1: 2 sc in each sc around (8 sc)
rd 2: sc in each sc around (8 sc)
rd 3: dec1sc over first 2 sc, sc in next sc around (5 sc)
rd 4-8: *switch to double green yarn* sc in each sc around (5 sc)
fasten off, weave in ends
Ears (make 2)
*hold 1 green & 1 black strand together*
ch 5
rw 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each across (4 sc), ch 1, turn
rw 2: sc in each sc across (4 sc), ch 2, turn
rw 3: dc in first sp, dc in each across, 2 dc in last sc. (6 dc) ch 2, turn
rw 4: dc in first sp, dc in each across, 2 dc in last dc (8 dc) ch 1, turn
rw 5-7: sc in each space across, ch 1, turn (8 sc)
rw 8: dec1sc over first 2 sc, sc in each sc across, sl st in last sc. ch 1, turn (6 sc)
rw 9:dec1sc over first 2 sc, sc in next 3 sc, sl st in last sc, ch 1, turn (4 sc)
rw 10: sc in next 2 sc, sl st, fasten off, weave in ends.
Finishing:
Stuff head and body before closing. Do not stuff arms or legs. Sew arms, legs, ears, and head onto body.
For the face i cut out a small ’rounded’ triangle shape and embroidered the nose and mouth on. oh, and the whiskers. I glued on the google eyes.
For the head, I sewed it on so that the starting ‘6 sc in ring’ was pointing up some so it would look like the bunny was looking up at me!!
