A small crossbow would be a great prop (minus any arrows, of course) if you could make or borrow one.  My friend went as Buffy one year and that was her main prop; she borrowed it from a friend.  She also had a big silver cross necklace (I think it was a cheap-o plastic Halloween prop thing, but it still worked) and a blonde wig, and just wore a trendy looking black pleather jacket (from Ross), jeans, and black chunky high-heeled shoes (also from Ross, I think).  The whole thing probably cost less than $30, and I think it looked pretty good.  Also the jacket and shoes she was able to use for normal wear afterwards, so that was a good deal.

Dunno how much $$ you want to spend on this, but just FYI www.tvmerch.com carries Claddagh rings, silver cross necklaces, and all kinds of other stuff (some of it's cheap, some of the stuff like prop replicas is pricey).  I've ordered from them many many times and they've always been really reliable, in spite of the webpage looking a bit amateurish...

Thanks so much Smiley
Funny, I've been thinking about wearing a pleather jacket and jeans. I just dunno what to wear as a top.

And her silver cross is so similar one I made my minister last year for a present when he left. I'm sure I can scavenge the silver scarps box at school to make my own Smiley It's fairly simple to make.

I might just go thrift shopping for a leather jacket next month. I also have chunky heals and pleather boots that I always wear for costumes, and I'm also thinking a head scarf too.

(oh yeah, those short skirts...I love Buffy's outfit in the second episode in season one at the very end.)

Hey I like the arm guards idea, I might just find cheap leather gloves at a thrift store or something. This costume will be an excuse to buy a leather jacket and leather gloves, especially since I just read somewhere that leather jackets are "in".:-)
