I found an old guitar... broken and unplayable. So I revamped it! It's still not playable... but it looks pretty darn cool! I just found my photo of it and though I'd share. Wink

The black is just glossy spray paint... and the decorations are acrylic.

well when I found it the bridge was detatched. I glued it back with some wood glue.. which isn't strong enough to support the full tension of tuned strings. So the strings are on, but nowhere near as taught as they really need to be to play it.

did you freehand the design with acrylic paints or is it some kind of stencil or something, it looks awesome!

I used various bottle caps and lids to make all the circles. the stars and comets are all freehanded. there are also quite a few colored rhinestones and some white buttons i painted.

linds...thats so awesome!! my boyfriend wanted to buy this kit where you build your own guitar, but he wasnt sure what kind of paint to use...that looks really cool

Thanks! if you were going to play it I'd recommend using a different kind of paint... not acrylic... It seems like it can chip and rub off pretty easily. you could get some enamel-like paint, like the kind they use on model cars? I bet that's pretty durable.
