I want to make a purse out of vitamin water labels

(envision a brown paper lunch sack, but bigger and sturdier)

I was just going to do a simple cardboard lining type deal with some fabric on it and use the starburst wallet tehnique (both sides covered in packing tape) for the wrappers.

anyone have any tips for me? I've just broken out of the Trinkets and Jewelry section and I'm super interested in doing wallets, purses, etc.

Here is a pic I drew in Paint

In the first drawing, it looks 3d almost, but it takes about 1 1/3 wrappers to make 14 inches.

Any help?

What a good idea! You could also maybe use a fabric layer to make it sturdier -- you should be able to sew through the labels without much problem. Maybe use longer stitches so it doesn't rip?

That sounds like a good idea. I was going to "line" the labels with posterboard before stitching it together and then making a fabric pouch-type thing (think bag without a handle) and hot glue it inside the bag. Or something like that. Thanks again!

There might be something helpful on this website:

Lots of photos and also lots of directions for various things in the folders, too.
