Ack, I didn't even think of customs taking them. That's sooo silly...they are completely dead...and enclosed in fabric (those flowers had been drying for a year and a half)

Unfortunately, Quarantine is SERIOUS BUSINESS here in the island nation. We've just recently had a Quarantine kick in the arse, because right before the Spring Racing season started, Equine Influenza got through Quarantine somehow. Every racecourse in Sydney is still shut down, and the damn disease has spread to Queensland, with new outbreaks popping up still. We had to send to France or somewhere for a SHITLOAD of vaccines, and then three states (Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria) had a good old-fashioned bitchfight about who was going to get most of the vaccines. Melbourne's still on tenterhooks, coz our big month of horse racing is about to start, and if EI comes to town as well, then we're screwed.
