Shocked I thought your cat was eyelash yarn until I read what you wrote! Ooops, he's a cutie pie. I love your room, I wish mine was that cool and organized. Smiley

That green color is amazing! I love it!

Are you into Martha Stewart at all? Seems like I've seen her use the gutter ribbon holder before in her magazine.

I'm jealous!  I wish I had a dedicated craft space that was beautiful and organized!  I currently have stolen my dining area (hubby is deployed, and my two toddlers could care less about whether they eat in the dining room or the living room, so it was free to take).

That looks great!  I'm working on mine right now... but it's nowhere near that cool, yet Cheesy  I love your green color also.

And thanks so much for using small pics (yes I still have dial-up)

That looks really good. I'm redoing my sewing/craft room. Are those just gutters that you can get at like home depot? Do you remember about how much they cost you?
Thanks for the good idea!!

Y'all are too kind.  Thanks for the lovely compliments.  (I love it, I love it!)
You, too, can become a ribbon whore/hoarder!
Sorry, do not recall the cost of gutter.  If shiny metal is not your thing, look at the other colors or paint it!  (Martha had hers custom fabricated in copper.)
The galvanized gutters can be found at Home Depot, Lowe's and such.  I purchased a 20' length and had it cut into four 5' sections.  You will need both left and right hand end caps for each section.  I pre-drilled hole in gutter and then drilled gutter onto wall.  To avoid scratches on your wall, get a buddy to hold the end of gutter as you drill.  Use a level!
Hope that helps!

I love it! The color...the organization...lovely. It looks like a great place to craft. The ribbon holder is great.

And on a silly note...your first picture reminded me that I want a new ceiling fan for my sewing room.  Cheesy

I am SO jealous! that looks fabulous! my last craft room consisted of a closet under the stairs that i could only store my stuff in and had to craft elsewhere therefore the dining room table was always a mess. i find that if i have a nice craft room, i have more inspiration b/c you have everything organized and know where it all is and you can see it all. with my closet i didn't do much crafting cuz everything was in boxes and its just too hard to pull it all out. SOMEDAY i WILL have a craft room!!

Shocked  my craft room looks nothing like that! Everything is so neat. I have to jump over stuff in my craft room! The rest of the house I can seem to keep neat, but when it comes to crafts its everywhere.

I'm thinking we should all take pictures of our craft areas, post them and take turns analyzing one each week for ideas.

Where is that camera . . .

Your room looks great.  I use gutter for the back of my sewing table, computer station and entertainment center for cords.  never thought about the ribbon - great ideas!

Allow me to kiss your feet for a moment... I LOVE your area! I have dreams of anally organising my wee craft corner... I just want to stand in there and absorb the tidyness of the place.

All in all, a good job!

From personal experience, once you go color, you never go back.  I love having color everywhere!  Even though the first time is scary.  That green is especially delicious though.

I AM SO JEALOUS!

First of all, I am jealous that you even have your own craft room... I don't have room in my apartment for a craft room... But I do have my own table!

Secondly, I'm jealous that you get to paint your room pretty colors!

Third, and lastly, I'm jealous of how organized you are! I keep saying that I'm unorganized for lack of space, but truth be told, I'm just not an organized person in general... I want to be, though!

Hi mountaingrl!  The paint color is Laura Ashley's Apple Green in flat finish because I wanted the shiny no-glare look.

Exactly how does one get to *be* anal retentive?  Is there some sort of class I could sign up for or something?  I need to balance out my sloppy retentive. (or whatever the opposite of anal is)

What a wonderful craft room.  I love the organization.  I just "accquired" a small -- very small space and it's hard to orgainize.  I love the ribbon holder!  It's called anal retentive?  lol.
