My theme for this challenge is "Iím A Plastic Bag. Eco friendly? Make me!" The objective is to find ways to make use of plastic bags so that it will not end up in the landfill.

As this is the first time I am posting, I am not allowed to posted pictures here.  To view pictures of what I have created can be viewed off this link:

http://greenbeingnancy.blogspot.com/2007/08/im-plastic-bag-eco-friendly-make-me.html

As I do not have enough plastic bags of similar size for this challenge, the bag I have created is a little too small for grocery but I least I get the design across.

I pulled out 2 huge plastic bags that held some electrical ware I bought and cut them into strips. I braided 3 strips together to make them studier.

I used rubber bands to hold the strips together and I have added flowers made out of plastic bags to decorate my 2nd design. So there, I have displaced 2 more plastic bags on earth.

It is strong enough to hold a 1.5 litre bottle of water even though I have used rubber bands to hold the strips together.  I plan to tie them together with raffia strings once I have collected enough abandoned material for the project to make a bigger bag.

As the the strips I have used are longer in the 1st design, I can use it to store a basketball.  A nice way to give a ball as a present?

Here is a poser for you. What would God, ever compassionate and forgiving, do to mankind who created things that destroyed his creations?

"I am naughty. Want me to be good? Help me!"
(What would you do to your wayward kids?)

Not true! I think it would work well for a cantaloupe! Yummy!

I like your bag!

That would make a nice beach bag for wet clothes, too!

Very funny and yet true. It might be nice to make several small ones like the bags that vine tomatos come in to put fresh produce in!!!

Thks to all for the encouraging comments I have received on my creation.  The design I would like to submit for this challenge is the one with flora decor.  That way, I displaced 4 plastic bags on earth.

Yes, it is knotted like what you would see in a  hammock.  I have used the same design for hanging pots and coconut shells for gardening.  To give you an idea, I have posted a picture of them on the following link:
