What a great bag.  I love it.  Hope you are able to do a tut for the side pockets.  I have tried and tried to figure this out and just unable to do it.
Thanks!

That bag is adorable! One of my friends loves Hello Kitty and would fall off her chair if I showed her that!

Hi there, I was wondering if you could tell me what type of fabric you used for the bag. It looks beautiful, and did you use interface before you started to stitch (I am new to using it) or afterwards? Also, does the Velcro that you use adhere well, meaning the bag remains closed? Thank you.

I used a fabric I purchased from Spotlight (fabric store in Australia).  Next time I'm there, I'll look at the name/manufacturer.  As far as the fabric itself goes, it's a medium weight cotton.

As for the interfacing, I use a generic iron on (heavy weight for outside).  I only very lightly iron it to the fabric.  If you fully adhere the interfacing to the fabric, it creates wrinkles in the fabric.  I would use sew on but I'm lazy and don't want to tack it to the fabric so the iron on (lightly adhered to the fabric) works for me.

I sew the velcro to the fabric.  I don't use the stick on variety as it peels away too easily and if you try to sew through it, it gums up your needle.  Also, don't iron velcro as it doesn't work as well.  If you follow this, velcro is a great closure!  Holds well.
