Thanks all for your kind words!  Wink

wow! thats awesome! i had bookmarked the tute to try out as well, and now i really cant wait. one question for ya tho...how did you attach the elastic pockets? I have not figured that idea out when making a jordy-style bag.

Nikki

I started with kokoleo's tutorial http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=38622.0 however I sewed the side seams in the pocket as well.  Turn the whole pocket right sides out.  Sew the side seams of the pocket (as in top stitch) to the side of the bag with the pocket sides going straight up and down.  Then fold some gussets into the bottom of the pocket and then when you are sewing the bottom corner, the pockets' bottom gets sewn into that seam.

It's really hard to explain.  I am sewing another one of these for my son's teacher so I'll take photos as I go along and do a little tutorial.

Your bag looks great did you use any interfacing because it looks so crisp?

Glad it fits!!!  I would love to see action shots  Cheesy

Your bag looks great did you use any interfacing because it looks so crisp?

Yes, I used heavy weight interfacing for the outside and lightweight interfacing for the lining.

I used iron on but I find if I only iron it on really lightly it gives a much better result that adhering it firmly.  If it is ironed on firmly, it creates bubbles in the fabric.  I find if I iron it lightly, this doesn't happen.  The interfacing can be easily pulled away from the fabric when you handle it.  In other words, it only just sticks to the fabric enough just to do your sewing.

Hope this helps
