I had a bunch of leftover scraps of from the blankets I crocheted for my daughter, when I was prego with her. I crocheted her 4 afghans, and made her a load of flannel receiving blankets with crocheted edgings on them. Anyway, I needed something to do with the scraps, and I needed something to keep me sane during breaks when I was at school (every hour we'd take a break for 15 min, and we had 45 min breaks for lunch), so I just sort of threw this together. I never finished off a row when I came to the end of a color; I just tied a new one on. You can see some of the knots, but I don't care; it just adds to the homey-ness of it, which I love. I love things that look blatantly homemade and aren't perfect. I'm not finished with it, not by a long shot, but I wanted to post these pictures anyway. I'm not going to be working on it for a while now...I need to build up my scrap yarn bin again. Smiley Anyway, here's a couple pictures.

Oh, I love this!... question, is it very difficult to do?  i don't know much about crocheting.. I did teach myself some basics, but I got bored with how long it was taking me.. I'm very impatient lol.

I am an extremely impatient person and suffer from craft ADD, so I can totally relate. It's not hard at all, and they work up fairly fast. I am a fast crocheter, but I think you'd still get some instant gratification out of it. The only "tricky" part was making sure my knots were tight and crocheting them into the piece. I didn't care if they showed, so I didn't try very hard to hide them. It's your basic granny square pattern that I just kept adding to. I do that a lot when I need to work up a quick afghan for a gift, or if I just feel like crocheting, but don't know what to do. Good luck with it! Smiley

I really like it.
How big is it so far and how big do you want it?
BTW, I don't think it is ugly at all

Why do some people think being a parent is only something to do when it is convenient for you?

Thanks! Smiley I just affectionately call it my ugly blanket. I love it actually. It is the size of a large lap blanket right now. I haven't really given the finished size much thought. I guess, ideally, I'd like for it to be large enough to lay on my queen sized pillow top mattress, nicely. Don't know if that made much sense. haha. I don't ever have a size in mind when I start a granny square afghan...I just keep going until I run out of yarn or I get sick of working on it. hehe

There will always be people who say mean words  because you are different, and sometimes their minds cannot be changed. There are many more people who do not judge others based on how they look or where they are from. THOSE are the people whose WORDS truly matter.
