My mom lives in an assisted living facility.  Every year we make a bath of pretzels, peanuts and white chocolate.  She puts it into bags and gives it to all the staff as a gift.

We want to make something different this year.  Any Ideas???I would appreciate any thoughts as soon as possible as the holiday is fast approaching.  She will be putting the goodies into small celophane bags.  Cannot wait to hear all your ideas.

Regards, Marie

how about chocolate haystacks? If you don't know what they are, I can send you a recipe. Or an assortment of goodies. How about holiday themed rice crispies? hmm.... sugar cookies decorated like ornaments are always fun and good.. that is so sweet of you and your mom to do that!!

Yeah, sugar cookies are always a hit. Here's a cute and easy recipe for "Stained Glass Cookies" they even have a video on the site if you're more of a visual learner like me.

My boss (an elder law attorney) REALLY likes your idea. Now she wants to go to one of our Assisted Living Facilities and have a cookie-making party! Thanks for the tip!

Spiced nuts (savory or sweet) can be easy to put together.  Does your mom's apartment have its own kitchen or not?

When in doubt, sauerkraut.
