Thanks to a lot of awesome inspiration from craftster (like http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=47711.0 and http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=114627.0 ) we just finished what we're calling "Toby's Castle"

It's made of wood, mdf board, some free carpet we found, sisal rope and a quick tube.  Most of it is nailed/carpet tacked, but the top part is thanks to the wonders of gorilla glue.  Home depot was out of liquid nails so we decided to give it a shot instead, and it's definitely a miracle glue.

Very nice!  It looks like something you would buy at the store.
I need one of those for my kids; I swear I say "Furniture is for sitting, not gymnastics" like 20 times a day!

Thanks!  My boyfriend and I spent the better part of a Saturday putting it together, laughing the whole time about how he'd probably never go near it.  Thankfully we were wrong, the second he saw it he went crazy claiming it as his (rubbing his chin all over it = cat version of "minemineminemine") and is pretty much always perched on it now.
