This isn't the standard fun-fare that you quilters have.  (I am so amazed by the creativity in quilting here!)  But it's my first ever quilt and it's a bit larger than a standard queen quilt.


It's a standard fence rail pattern done with 20 colors.

In my grandfather's last days he would constantly run his hands over it.  It gave him comfort; so much more important than the technical errors it contains over which I obsessed.

Beautiful quilt!! i'm in the middle of my own rail fence quilt (I'm trying to thin out my fabric stash, and a rail fence seemed like a quick and fun way to do it!). It's spectacular, and isn't it wonderful how handmade gifts can bring joy to people?? I always find it inspiring.

Stunning!  I love the improvisational style of this quilt -- it has such a great graphic quality.

And, what a moving story, too...
